Home

And finally, after one year and a half distance, the dream comes true. Tonight he'll come to me and random places in this new, unknown city will become at last ours. That bench along the lake, covered by the leaves that autumn stole from the big red oak, will be witness of our love and will faithfully give us shelter during the cold winter evenings. I will be meeting him at the Café in the corner every day after work so we can release the tension after a hard day and fill our bodies with warm and tasty coffee that would give us strength to continue with a playful evening either his place or mine. Eventually, our routine will be known by the bartender, who cheerful would bring us the beverages without even taking note.

In the mornings, the grey-haired woman with light blue eyes and strong hands at the bakery would save 2 breads for us and we will learn by heart the schedule so we can get them freshly baked for breakfast.

And in the nights... In the nights I will be asking him to accompany me to the gallery many times, for us to admire pieces of art that neither of us would understand but that we will learn to love. He will take me to the movie theater to see that old film that he is really keen on but I haven't ever heard of. Normally, we would just wander nearby our dear bench, watching how ducks deal with their business and prepare their trip to warmer lands for winter.

But most important, I will be able to see his sleepy eyes one palm far from mines every morning and his smell, that I miss so much when he is away, would be everywhere. We will play some music while cooking for dinner and we will drink a glass of wine afterwards, I can even get used to having cheese after the meal, I'll try. Then, home would only make sense if he is part of the equation, and I truly want him to be. I've been waiting too long, we've been waiting too long for this to happen... we deserve it.
